Training firmly on agenda at ALEP’s Leasehold Roundtable

The Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners (ALEP) welcomed senior representatives from the Leasehold Advisory Service (LEASE), the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Institute of Residential Property Management (IRPM), and the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) to its bi-annual Leasehold Roundtable in central London. 

The meeting, which facilitated informal discussions on issues currently affecting the residential leasehold sector, focused on the opportunities for training and continued consultation between organisations.

Alex Greenslade, ALEP’s Honorary Secretary, commented:

“As a group, we had previously agreed that collaboration is vital and these informal talks have allowed us to agree a common objective – to raise standards. It is becoming increasingly apparent that training is key to this. ALEP is delighted to be working with our colleagues in the sector to develop and deliver a programme of training in order to educate other professionals about the complex subject of enfranchisement.”

Roger Southam, Chair of LEASE, attended the event alongside Chief Executive, Anthony Essien. He commented:

“The world of property faces representation from a lot of different organisations, all with distinct purposes. Any opportunity to get together and discuss areas of interest and action are to be applauded and the Leasehold Advisory Service is delighted to be included.  It enables the understanding of what the various bodies are up to and issues being faced.”
