ALEP’s response to CMA Investigation into “ground rents scandal”

The Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners (ALEP) has reviewed the latest findings from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) regarding its investigation into potential mis-selling and unfair contract terms in the leasehold property market.

 Commenting on the likely enforcement action to be taken by the CMA, ALEP Director, John Midgley says: “Leasehold can be a complex subject to navigate.  Our member firms are regularly called on to assist helping worried leasehold homeowners who feel stuck with escalating ground rents on new build houses. We will be watching with interest the outcome of the CMA’s action.”
